How to Make Whipped Santa Maria Cheese & Butter Mushroom Toast
Cook the Mushrooms
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add 1 tbsp butter and let it melt.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the mushrooms and spread them out in an even layer.
- Sprinkle with ½ tsp salt and let cook for a few minutes to develop caramelization.
- Stir occasionally until mushrooms are golden and slightly charred (about 6–8 minutes).
- Remove and set aside.
Whip the Cheese
In a bowl, gently whip the Santa Maria Fresh Goat Cheese with olive oil until smooth and creamy. This helps improve texture and presentation. You can also use a food processor if preferred.
Toast the Bread
Lightly toast the sourdough slices until golden and crisp. Set aside.
Assemble
Spread a generous layer of Santa Maria over each slice of toast. Spoon the warm butter mushrooms on top.
Serve
Finish with chives, black pepper & salt. Serve immediately.
Optional topping: honey and/or extra virgin olive oil.
