Spanish Fresh Cheese Appetizer
Serves 10
Ingredients:
- 1 wedge Spanish Fresh Queso Fresco Cheese (about 8 ounces)
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 dash black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Direction:
Using a cheese grater, shred the Spanish Fresh cheese on the large holes.
Place the chopped garlic in a medium bowl. Add the oregano, black pepper and 1 tablespoon of the olive oil. Mix thoroughly. Add the shredded Spanish Fresh cheese and toss. Add the remaining olive oil and toss lightly. (You can refrigerate spread, covered, overnight.)
Allow the mixture to sit on the counter, covered for ½ hour allowing the flavours to meld. Mix lightly before serving.
Serve by spooning the spread onto hard wheat crackers or crusty bread.
