Jalapeño Popper Skewers with Cilantro-Lime

Ingredients (Skewers):

  • 300g Queso Mexicano cheese
  • 4 large jalapeño peppers
  • 8 bacon slices
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Ingredients (Cilantro-Lime Crema):

  • 1/2 cup Latin Crema
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped cilantro
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  1. Cut the cheese into 1-inch chunks.
  2. Cut the jalapeños crosswise into 1/2-inch-thick slices.
  3. Cut each bacon slice in half.
  4. On 6-inch-long wooden skewers, thread a piece of bacon, followed by a cheese cube, a jalapeño slice, another cheese cube, and another piece of bacon, threading the bacon in between each piece. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

Cilantro-Lime Crema:

  1. In a small bowl, stir together the Latin Crema, chopped cilantro, and lime juice. Set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, heat 2 inches of oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Fry the skewers a few at a time until the cheese is golden brown.
  4. Using a slotted spoon, remove the skewers and place them on paper towels to drain.

To Serve: Arrange the skewers on a platter and place a bowl of Cilantro-Lime Crema alongside them.
